heh, well now that I've did some more looking around and I see that they fear MJD could have a Lisfranc Injury. If that's the case, it would mean its season ending and it would take away the already very slim trade value on MJD.

oh well, the luck of a Jags fan. They should of dealt him during the off season when he was holding out, but it's easy to look back and say "should of did this and should of did that".

As far as I've read, there's no official word on if it's torn or not yet I believe. I guess they're sending the MRI to Dr. James Andrews though so there's definitely something going on.

Problem with sitting him and tanking for a pick, it will probably mean Gene Smith will get fired. If that's the case a new GM will most likely want his own hand picked QB. You could then say, "ok draft a QB and let them battle it out, best man wins". But if the QB who wins the starting job struggles, then you got a QB controversy on your hands, because the back up QB is always the most popular person in town and that doesn't help anybody or the team. It's just stupid to give up on a freshly turned 23 year old QB (he turned 23 on October 15th I believe it was).

We need help in many other places then at QB and there isn't really any true franchise QBs coming out in this draft anyways. I'd rather them spend a top 5 pick on Jarvis Jones or Star Lotulelei or one of the Pass Rushers that are coming out.

edit: You're right, now that I just did some morning looking around it is being reported that it is indeed a torn labrum. Great, now all the idiots who wanted to see shitty Henne get their wish. :wallbash:

*Look for linebacker Julian Stanford to make a start Sunday. Mularkey said Stanford, a rookie free agent from Wagner, played well against Oakland after opening in the base defense.

ahh yea son, about time. Hes been flashing in multiple games this season and it's getting about that time to start letting the young guys play. Gotta see what they got.

The way the season has been going, that's not such a bad thing. Might be best to let Blaine get the surgery now and let it heal fully for next season, and at the same time silence anybody who thinks Henne is the better option.

While that makes sense and has already been thought of, it may not be a good idea. It could be an excuse for Gene Smith to save his job, but it also may not be seeing as Gene also signed Henne. If Gene Smith does get fired at the end of this season and we do get a new GM. That very well could mean bye bye Gabbert as well, seeing as a new GM wouldn't be tied to him.

I'm pretty sure the Labrum is cartilage. If it's already torn it can't get any worse. It will just be a matter of how well he can tolerate and play through the pain, throughout the season.

Yes and no. The Labrum is a ring of cartilage that basically holds your shoulder in the joint. He's not going to do any long term damage, as he needs surgery anyway. He's just more prone to a dislocation, and could obviously increase his rehab time, depending on how much scar tissue he builds up in there.
