A month later, I finally get a refund from ebay for some counterfeit mtg cards I bought.

I get to keep the item since the seller never responded. In sleeves, they look just like the real thing. Outside the sleeves, they feel weird and you can see that they're printed on different card stock and look a bit off. I might just use these fakes and save myself some $

just be careful when going to a big event with them. You can and will get DQ'd if caught using fakes

Do they make you take the cards out of sleeves and use a jeweler's loupe on them?

I think judges are trained to know the differences to look for and know how to do the tests

Idrk the process they go through but i just know you can get DQ'd for using fakes

These fakes were easy to tell. However, I used a 60x magnification loupe to see that the dot matrix was different, the (C) symbol and other fine details were blotchy, the colors were off, the corners were cut and not punched, the cardstock was shinier (had to prove it was fake to ebay).

They're already faking that little holographic seal though lol, some some of the fakes must be pretty damn good.
