yes they are similar, i won't argue that, but it looks like Flowers hits' Mahomes' shoulder pad first, not Mahomes' neck like you say... just what I see from it (and i watched it like a dozen times in a row). You have to remember it's what the official sees live, not from replay lol...

& lol, which team do you think benefit more from (what you see as) "one-sided" officiating, the Patriots, or the Rams?

He'll say the Pats for sure man. Rams got one horribad call, doesn't mean they always benefit from calls. He's a Jacksonville fan and we all know the Jags got straight fucked on a call that probably would have handed them the W last year in the AFCCG.

e: I'm not saying we only win because we get calls, but that's how a lot of the people in the league see it and we (like all teams) have had some hugely questionable calls at the most fortuitous of times. We win because Brady and BB are stupid together.

Mahomes took a worse shot to the neck earlier in that game and didn't get a roughing the passer penalty. It was very similar to Brady's, except Mahomes actually got hit in the neck and not just the shoulder like Brady.

Van Noy almost shredded Mahomes knee on that very same play that the phantom PI call happened. Still would have been an automatic 1st down and 15 yards from roughing the passer on Van Noy. They got 7 extra yards from the PI, big deal...

You guys run pick plays all game long, in every game lol. You guys never get called on them. That's a complete joke to complain about that call. You guys are the must known pick play/rub route running team in the league and literally never get called on it. How do you think Edelmen kept getting open on those 3rd and longs in the middle of the field? Yup you guessed it, pick plays/rub routes.

At the end of the day, we got two great Championship games. Terrible calls happen in every single game. They just get magnified to all fuck in the Playoffs because everybody's eyes are on just one game at a time, rather than spread out amongst the handful of games you might be watching on Sunday during the regular season.

I don't recall Mahomes getting slapped in the neck earlier, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. As far as the phantom PI goes, it was still extra yards and any extra yards are huge. I remember at the time thinking the roughing the passer call wasn't that bad, he came in right when the ball left his hands, or at least that's what I thought. The bar didn't seem to think either of those calls were right either and I was surrounded by NE haters, but I was drunk and I ofc do cheer for NE, so it's possible it was worse than I perceived it to be. As far as us doing pick plays all the time and never getting called, that's pretty irrelevant. Any bad pick we've done all year have gotten called (or at least most of them, which is why we've laid off on it substantially) and there's was blatant. It should have been called and it was a bad missed call that helped them a lot. It doesn't make or break the game ofc, I was just stating that I felt there were equal misses on both sides of the ball and that it was a decently enough officiated game.

You still can't touch a QB in the head/neck area, as per the rule.

He did touch the shoulder first, but it slid into his neck. I liked the no call because it wasn't roughing the passer at all.

The point is, Mahomes actually had some head movement from the blow and was far more justified if they did throw a flag on it. Brady's head didn't move at all and had zero justification for a flag being thrown. That one was just flat out awful.

Again, I don't think the Mahomes one was a penalty either and it was a good non call.

What pisses me off is how they only call it for certain QBs. This is just fucking undeniable based off what I've seen. I know Brady has been one of those guys who benefits from it, like a few of the other big name QBs, but you see running QBs or QBs no one cares about, get absolutely destroyed in the pocket and there's hardly ever a flag. That shit pisses me off.

The roughing the passer on Brady was hands down the worst call of the game, I was never trying to debate that or w/e, that shit was horrrrrrible.

I'd say 7 extra yards is huge if your playing against the Jags' dog shit Offense who can barely move the football down field.. 7 extra yards for one of the most explosive teams in the NFL is nothing.

Are you talking about the Van Noy roughing the passer? He literally went straight down into Mahomes knees. It almost hyper extended his knee. Luckily Mahomes was slightly in the air because if his knee was planted it could have been bad.

It's funny that you say that because I just seen this a little big ago on twitter and it's spot on and hits on what you're saying about some QBs getting special treatment. Sorry that the pictures are so big...

This was called roughing the passer as we all know...

This happened earlier this season and wasn't flagged...

It's not illegal to hit a guy in the knees though. Ya, it was a nasty hit, but iirc, he was already lunging before Mahomes let go of the ball, which would make it a legal hit as long as he doesn't target his head, or lay on top of him after.

The PI was complete BS, but that was questionable too imo. Again, already admitted maybe it was worse than I thought, but it looked like he was on time and it was legal, which would make that one questionable and the other just an outright terrible call. I thought for sure that was them just making up the bad Brady roughing, just like how they gave Brees two free penalties after completely fucking them.

It is most definitely illegal to go at a QB knees... You can't go low and you can't go high. They literally made the rule that you can't go at a QB knees anymore for Brady himself lol. You do remember when Bernard Pollard went low on Brady and shredded his knee in week 1 of the 2008 season right?

That's only if both feet are planted? You said he had one foot up.

e: And ya, bit drunk still, obviously you can't spear a guy in the knee who's going to pass on purpose. But the rule is only enforced, or it should only be enforced if both feet are firmly planted, if the player is moving around, it's legal to take out their legs. What I was trying to say, but clearly my brain isn't working all that hot today.

It doesn't matter, you can't even touch QBs around the knee anymore, just like the head/neck. That's been a rule for awhile now

you can't tackle a QB by the knees if they're out of the pocket and they are a runner?
