... How long have you been watching the Packers? I'd love to fault the WRs here, but Aaron tends to hold onto the ball regardless of how much separation his receivers get. Perhaps that is his way of countering the ultra-productive playcalling that we've been using for the better part of each season. He knows that his mobility allows him to gamble and let the play develop a bit more because he can maneuver out of trouble if necessary. Our routes are definitely not "late developing" overall. The amount of bubble & WR screens was very high even before Rodgers went down. Cobb/Jordy got the majority of these. The number of slants, hooks and flat routes is insane. For many years, GB has had pride in the WRs ability to get YAC. That's where these routes really shine and all of our WRs are quite good at finding YAC. That's why on most 3rd and long situations, we'll toss it 2-3 yards and pray for the best. It's maddening as a fan, but the numbers check out because it works more often than we think.
i've been a packer fan since i started watching football in the mid 90's, so awhile. I honestly watch the games and i don't see the wrs get much separation, especially with the short routes, our guys get jambed at the line. I've seen games where they get open and rodgers is usually right there....i don't think rodgers enjoys moving around unless he has to.
