I want to see what Ben Tate can do. John McClain thinks all three running backs will play versus the Saints.

"The Texans entered Monday night’s preseason game against the Jets with three running backs nursing hamstring injuries. Arian Foster, Ben Tate and Steve Slaton have spent more time on stationary bikes than on the practice field. The coaches hope to get all three back this week for Saturday’s game against New Orleans."

It's amazing they had any success running the ball against the Jets. Even Derrick Ward got hurt early in the game. They were down four backs.

The numbers are still stacked against Chris Ogbonnaya, in terms of making the team. But I'm cheering for the hometown kid. He went to Strake Jesuit High School.

I posted my videos before d2jsp made the wide-screen mode change in the past 10 hours. Now if you post a full-size video it will look great.

Where the Hood At?!

Sup everyone, haven't been on in a while..

3-4 Looked ok first game. Saints will be a good test for us. I want to see the secondary more this time since we got a good look at the D-Line in the first game. Drew Brees should be able to give our secondary a couple learning lumps. I only got to see Brandon Harris for like 2 minutes, Kareem looked to be what I thought he was. The product of a bad Defensive coordinator Last year. Frank Bush Literally killed Kareems Rookie Season, Along with Cushings Sophomore Season.. Now it's their time to show how they can really play.

Offense is what the Offense was. Just more Mobile at FB. I still would like an Upgrade at WR somewhere. Whether it was a Plaxico Burress Signing (I know it was very unlikely), Or maybe Braylon Edwards (3.5 million for 1 year? We couldn't do that?)

But I'm still looking forward to seeing the Saints vs Texans.. I actually think we have a chance against their 1st strings if theres no injuries.

I'm excited about tomorrow night's game. I hope Jonathan Joseph is able to play after missing last week's game. Gary Kubiak was hoping to see Arian Foster, Steve Slaton and Ben Tate get some action. It's especially important for Ben Tate to show what he can do because he's already fallen to 4th or 5th on the running back depth chart, because Derrick Ward (prior to getting hurt) and Chris Ogbonnaya have really stepped up.

It just goes to show you why Gary Kubiak's "Denver system" that he learned under Mike Shanahan never had to draft running backs with high picks in the draft. They could find sleepers in the much later rounds. Still not sure why they drafted Tate with a second round pick. For example. Arian Foster was undrafted and back in the day, I believe Terrell Davis was a 6th-round pick.

Another guy I'll be watching closely is Lestar Jean. This guy may eventually step up and become the second best wide receiver on the team after Andre Johnson. He's similar size and has a ton of talent. I can see him surpassing Jacoby Jones and maybe Kevin Walter on the depth chart at some point. How did scouts miss that kid out of Florida Atlantic? A great undrafted rookie signing he's turning out to be.

Lestar "Big Play" Jean. With a nickname like Big Play you have to be special. You got to give credit to GM Rick Smith for hitting home runs with his undrafted rookie signings. He's able to find these guys when other teams bypass them. He's already looking like a genuise with Arian Foster.

I don't want to get too excited too fast though. But things seem to be coming together on both sides of the ball. Matt Schaub is a little rusty but you know he'll work out the kinks by the third pre-season game when he plays into the 4th quarter. Still a little uneasy about the fullback situation but Lawrence Vickers is a good blocker (not Vonta leach though), and James Casey is playing through a minor injury.

Texans beat them in Reliant the last time they played a regular-season game in Houston. Andre Johnson exposed their secondary and Reggie Bush was tackled for losses in the backfield twice by Mario William, who had a point to prove that game. What sucks is they went on to win the Super Bowl a couple years later and we're still stuck in the "never made the playoffs before" conversation. How can the Saints put their elite offense to good use and we can't seem to get over the damn hump? Talent wise, we're every bit as dangerous as the Saints.

Xavier Adibi with a late hit. Personal foul. 15 yards. Saints moving the ball on their first drive.

Big plays by Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles.
