I have said before, they show flashes of greatness, I mean if a guy actually watches every game, you see them do things that are just amazing things. A lot of our trouble starts with discipline. We are in decent position and we commit a stupid penalty. Some of it are the rookies we have been forced to start due to injury and asshead itis Titus, but even veterans screw us like Raiolas stupid hike that cost us the game,or False starting on 3rd down, etc. Special teams play has to improve on both side of the ball, its a weakness that has changed games and put the momentum against us. Mainly we have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot. We have lost a bunch of close games that we could have or should have won. We have basically made a game of it every time, we just cant close the deal. If the offense is playing good, the defense is killing us, and vise versa. I believe we could have made the playoffs again this year had we simply been a more disciplined team and not committed penalties at crucial moments in games, or just plain failed on kickoff coverage and letting the other team score 2 tds a game on us. We also should have been using our tight ends more, Heller is a fucking beast and barely gets a ball thrown to him, same with tony, he could be used more. If they want to double and triple calvin on the outside make em pay in the middle of the field, it's not rocket science, and we actually have a pair of running backs in bell and leshoure that can make a team be honest and have to be ready for run every play.

I agree with you 100%. If you actually look at every single game this season--we could have won every game had we not committed borderline (i have down syndrome) penalties/mistakes. Of all the years--this year has been the hardest to watch. It'll be interesting to see what we address in this years draft. I look for Ryan Broyles to be a standout receiver(wes welkerish beside of Calvin) next year. I'll admit I've had high hopes for the Lions every year--but next year--they will have everything. and yes Bell has essentially replaced Best.
