I was stuck in a. airport or on a plane for the entire opener and was wondering if one of you guys could fill me in?

Highlights are great and all, but I wanna know specifically where we looked good, where we lacked, what if anything you guys were surprised by for negative or positive reasons, players who stood out once again for positive or negative reasons and anything else you guys can think of.

That will be the only game I'll miss all year and it was worth it for sure, but I fucking loathe missing even a quarter of the goodness that is NE football.

I missed the entire first quarter, but saw every minute from the start of the 2nd quarter.
off the top of my head...
our defense looked like it has some new life, I'm excited... Deatrich Wise could be a very nice player, Tre Flowers looked great as usual, Stephon Gilmore had a great game (excluding two boneheaded holding penalties). Like I said, I missed the entire first quarter so maybe I missed something, but i think Adrian Clayborn had a pretty quiet night, I hope he steps up... On the o line; Trent brown is a fucking beast and it looks like we may have found a steal in trading for him. Waddle had a tough time with JJ Watt but that's not surprising or anything. For the actual offense, Phillip Dorsett looks polished, he could have a good year. Patterson had a few nice plays as well. Gronk was Gronk. Brady was Brady more or less (the INT was tipped, not on him really) J Hill looked like a stud until he went down (sigh), Burkhead and James white were good as well.

The defense is what surprises me. Watson carved us up last year and I was worried he'd do it again to start the year. If we can hold off such a potentially explosive offense, we might actually have a chance of being real competitors this year. I know we're always in it, but we need a defense to go from just another team in the playoffs to a real favorite imo.

(way too early for this but) I don't want the Rams in the super bowl (if we make it) that's for sure lol. Praying they got knocked out some how.

They're fucking terrifying... I don't want to play the Jags either though (in the playoffs). A good pass rush has been effective in fucking up NE far too many times in the past and I'd rather avoid both those monstrous D-lines if at all possible.

e: Should have specified playoffs. I feel confident about us taking them on in the regular season, but they seem hell bent on beating us and we 100% should have lost to them last year. If that fumble wasn't blown dead, we almost certainly lose that game.

I thought so, which is why I'm going to continue wearing it for a little bit.

Didn’t the pats spend a first round pick on a RB who is currently riding the bench?

Maybe should have gotten an O-lineman to protect their prehistoric qb
