Andre Johnson and J.J. Watt were at the Houston Rodeo Parade today. Andre looking stylish with the cowboy hat.

Texans need to win the Super Bowl next year. The parade would be over the top, LOL

Isn't tomorrow the deadline for teams to use the franchise tag? 5 PM eastern on March 5 I believe. Texans are trying to clear some cap space by getting guys to restructure their contracts. I'm going to support their efforts to re-sign Mario Williams because it doesn't look like they'll franchise tag him. It would cost them a base salary of around $22 million for 2012 which is too much. But what if they franchise tag pro bowl center Chris Myers?

I'd rather do long term deals with Foster/Myers/Brisel then worry about Mario contract.

Texans QB Schaub expects to return from injury in better condition

http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2012/03/texans-qb-schaub-expects-to-return-from-injury-in-better-condition/

Quote
Schaub concedes he’s hardly ready to buckle his chinstrap and hit the field. The good news, of course, is he doesn’t have to be. And barring an unforeseen setback, there seems to be no question he’ll be honing in on 100 percent in time for the start of training camp. He should even be able to take part to some extent in the organized team activities (OTAs) that begin in May.

Schaub is putting in three to four hours every morning, five days a week, and believes he’ll come up out of the ordeal a better-conditioned athlete, certainly as far as his lower body is concerned. Having overcome the significant muscle atrophy that set in during the month and a half he spent coddling the foot, he’s already to the point where he can say, “Both my legs will definitely be stronger next season than they have ever been.

Schaub admitted what happened to him would have been a whole lot worse for a scrambling quarterback, which he most definitely isn’t. “I think the good thing is the strength of my game is playing within the pocket,” he said. “I don’t need to create a lot of plays on my own by running. I can pretty much guarantee I’ll get back to where I was.”

Matt Schaub is already playing golf and lifting weights. Nice to see him progessing ahead of schedule. He'll be ready for OTAs in May. Should be full speed by training camp in July, the pre-season in August and the regular season in September.

Matt Schaub is going hard in the weight room with Shaun Cody. LOL, I hope he doesn't go nuts: A LaRon Landry type of obsession.

“Arian Foster joins AP and CJ atop RB $$ ranks. $43.5M over 5 years, $20.75M guar, $30m in 1st 3 years of deal, $18M in 2012.”

Fuck yeah.

That video makes me shed a tear and it's inspirational. He deserved it from where he came - undrafted and overlooked.

WR Andre Johnson restructured his contract in order to give the Texans more cap space, according to Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network. Johnson converted his $6.5 million base salary to a bonus and spread it out over a number of seasons.

I believe the cap space is going to be announced on Friday.
