As per usual though he does sub standard rules, just like in his fantasy leagues :P
Nah if you want a team you bid it up just before close you don't wait to see if you get by with the lowest possible bid.
Having the protection of not being outbid before the deadline reduces the urgency
I get the rule, I just like hard deadlines with auctions
