The Patriots' pass rush seems like an area that can be improved from the 2017 season, and apparently the team is taking a unique approach to help.

According to The Boston Globe, the Patriots are hiring martial arts expert Joe Kim as a consultant for the 2018 season.

This isn't the first time Kim has worked with a NFL team, including with Bill Belichick. Belichick hired him back in 1992 when he was head coach of the Browns as an assistant strength coach/pass rush specialist and he worked with the team for a few seasons.

Kim has a deep background in Taekwondo and therefore helps pass rushers with their hand placement and technique.

The report says Kim will spend most of his time working alongside defensive line coach Brendan Daly.

Players like Adrian Clayborn, Derek Rivers, Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise Jr. figure to spend the most time working with Kim.

The Patriots didn't pick up Phillip Dorsett's fifth-year option and now they apparently are tweaking his contract.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the wide out agreed to a reduction in the roster bonus due the fifth day of training camp. It went down from $450,000 to $150,000, but he now can earn $100,000 in per-game roster bonuses and $150,000 in reception incentives.

Dorsett was acquired by the team last year in the trade for Jacoby Brissett.

In 15 games last year he caught 12 passes for 194 yards, but with an entire offseason in the organization many expect him to have a much better 2018 campaign.

I like it, gives him more incentive to play harder.

Really great analysis. Thanks, Randy. An incentivized contract gives him more incentive to play harder.
