At least they are light years ahead of those days. It still hurts me all the same right now. That feeling of the long off-season on the horizon and a sense of loss. Right now I'm feeling like this team is close but it doesn't even matter. Got to wait a full year just to get some sort of redemption in the playoffs. At least the Texans go into next season with the Super Bowl as a realistic goal. No more playoffs, winning a damn playoff game. That isn't jack shit to me. Got to dream bigger than that or don't even bother to waste my time.

Matt Leinart has one year left on his contract. Just move Yates to backup and keep Delhomme as third string. Release Leinart and Garcia. Just need to hope Schaub stays healthy all 16 games and the playoffs next year. It's the only way the Texans will make a deeper run.

Or keep Leinart and yates as backup and release delhomme lol. Leinart has way more talent then delhomme at this point IMO

You may be right but Matt Leinart is Mr. Checkdown. I'm not sure he's ever going to be anything more than a bust. At least Delhomme isn't afraiid to sling the ball downfield even at his old age. He was showing some nice throws against the Titans in the last game of the season. They may just release Leinart, Delhomme and Garcia, and draft a quarterback in the fifth or sixth round to groom as the third string.

So they go into next season with Schaub, Yates and another 5th-round rookie who can learn and grow. Hmm, I'd love to have the hometown kid Case Keenum in the later rounds. He'd be a great selection. Good kid with a nice arm. I like Keenum more than Yates to be honest. Comparing them based on their scouting report coming out of college.

The texans run defense and pass rush is ridiculous.

Special teams got worse with Rackers unable to hit over 45 yards with consistency and Jacoby Jones on punt returns was awful all year long. Danieal Manning on kickoffs was good before he broke his leg. Then he had a good kickoff return today. Need to try and upgrade at kicker and replace Jacoby Jones with a young, speedy wide receiver in the draft, maybe second or third round.

Now that a Day has passed and the let down has passed...

Can't wait for next season, even thought a lot of people don't like Jacoby. I still like him, He made a mistake, but he also recovered that fumble foster had. It doesn't make up for muffed punt, but if he didn't cover the ball it could have been another turnover. The texans do need to start getting there stuff together on Wr position, idk if Lestar Jean is consider the future i know they were all for him during pre-season before he got hurt. But it will be answered either draft or maybe FA who knows.

TJ Played like a rookie, but we were still in the game that is a good sign for the future. The D played lights out even with their bad field positions the few times. I am glad as of now Wade is staying here. I wouldnt blame him if he wanted to be head coach, but he will be a beloved person in my household. Kubiak liked him back in Denver and still do i am so Thankful that McNair kept him this season. He may not be to emotional, but he did well with what he was given with this year.

This is a question for ya'll though... of course Colts Jags and Titans are all rivals because of the AFC south, but as we go on who would you think are those games we really want to win not just for the win but to beat the team that we play. I was thinking 3 teams

Oakland - Just seems like we played them the last few years and thats one team i always want to beat.
Saints - We played them this year and was close till Brees went insane, and adds with the practice/preseason game every year minus this year
Ravens - for Obvious reasons this season

Idk it be interesting to see what everyone thinks i will say i cant wait to play Baltimore next year

But all in all I was happy with this season and excited for next season, I will have such a hard time waiting.


But i just wanted to say thank to Ya'll it was a great season and great to talk to Texan fans on a regular basis even the occasional Jag fan... even though i am new and kinda random
