Pls don't draft a QB this year

Tank, top 5 pick, top QB next year in draft
Use this draft and FA to begin building the roster for the future QB to walk into

Absolutely agree. There are so many holes on the team there is no need to draft a QB in a mediocre QB class. Even if we somehow got Watson I don't think we are contending this year, outside of the WR/TE we have a huge lack of talent from years of bad drafting/roster building. There are so many strong teams this year even just in the division, it doesn't make sense to give up all the picks to force a win-now situation with a half complete roster, if that. It would mean extending/resigning aging vets like Diggs on big contracts that will further delay true progress and keep us in 1st round playoff purgatory even longer.

I don't follow draft prospects but whatever this draft is strong in, I would rather we just use this year to develop our younger players (Tre Brown, Eskridge, Taylor) to take on bigger roles, find a replacement for Brown/Diggs, solidify the o-line, get a young durable Rb since I don't think Penny will last as a work horse back with his injury history, and add to the D line. Eat all the dead money hits this year (aka if we trade Lockett) and make due with Lock for cheap since we aren't rdy to play for anything, and clear the books so we can start fresh with tons of cap money next year to sign some impact pass rush help and with a better overall team in place to draft the potential Qb of the future.

Also prefer if Carroll exits next year and lets someone else helm the rebuild/QB development. We got lucky drafting Wilson after teams passed on him, but as far as development goes, he never really improved in the overall sense. Whether that's on him or mostly being hamstrung by Carroll's rigid philosophies/simplistic schemes, he got less dynamic as a playmaker because they relied on his mobility until he had none (or a lot less) and he became 1 dimensional to the point where we are losing to back up Qbs. It's going to take time and at least 1-2 good drafts to undo how much Carroll has run this team into the ground with bad contracts/lack of player development. I'd prefer a true rebuild/new identity, not in a rush to overpay/spend on Watson just to compete for a wildcard playoff spot.

Dissly 3yr $24m

Seems steep but Dissly & Fant is a solid TE duo

Diggs 3yr $40m, I like this one, he's a beast

I cant tell if Dissly is good anymore or not.

His speed has dropped off but he's been underused. Now I don't know if that's because of scheme, Wilson, or he just doesn't get open.

I like the potential of a Dissly/Fant combo, as I did with Dissly/Everett. I just don't understand why they thought they needed to pay 8m/yr for a guy that's barely made it through 1 full season, like other teams were gonna scoop him up?

Feel like we coulda resigned him for less, considering his last season was pretty unremarkable/worse statistically speaking, once we had a main TE receiving option in Everett. But yeah, I guess we'll see.

Edit: and now most likely no Watson, so the overpay makes even less sense.

Diggs extension I like but Dissly is kind of questions imo.

I like Al Woods re-signing as well.

Well it was reported that there were quite a few teams reaching out to get Dissly.

He's a Miller type, good blocking and good in the passing game when utilized properly.

However, he's got good speed and route running.

Just hasn't been used well.
