As a fan
I don't give a fuck about who BB thinks deserves a timeout
His ego got in the way this time
I'm not necessarily sure it was his ego, but more of a case of overthinking things, Butler played a ridiculously high % of snaps the prior season(s) but all of a sudden he's not good enough to make 1 play in the super bowl? that's how I see it. Just because he supposedly had a bad week in practice you're going to sit your starting CB in one of the biggest games of his career?

Wouldn't have made a difference. Still not sure how anyone thinks that our secondary would have held up any better with Butler when we had no pass rush. It was a blow for blow game and Brady getting stripped was the final dagger. Eagles got a ton of help from the zebras and that's what pisses me off more than anything. Butler was not good this year lol. He made a couple of okay plays from time to time, but he looked like ass and he gave up more big plays than anyone in our secondary all year. Maybe BB was just trying to avoid that? Who fucking knows, but I really can't believe people think Malcolm Butler would have been a deciding factor in a game like that.
you're probably right but no one knows for sure, maybe he jumps a route and makes a game changing INT, or maybe he makes one or two more tackles that our CB's couldn't handle (Bademosi or one of our other scrub DB's missed a blatantly easy tackle). While there's no doubt we benefited overall in the AFCCG from the refs, in the super bowl that was not the case like you say; Eagles clearly had the benefit of the doubt most of the game. The clement TD... the illegal formation that went uncalled... etc. I chalk it up to inconsistency but that ESPN report that came out a few days ago made me a little upset.
