Vouch.
At the highest level of PvP, that shit was straight lit. Sure, rules were invented to keep it more balanced, but the only rules that I cared l that much about were no nking, no pots, and no mods. I mained a druid so I didn't have to worry about sorb, and I never cared if people wanted to use mercs or whatever.
I had sooooo much fun with 1v1s against other good people and 3v3 or 4v4 fpk. My clan was pretty solid and we had a lot of fun smashing people together. Druid, nec, and sorcs were what I ran. I never got ww Barbs down perfectly, just couldn't master it. Zons/Sins bored me, hammers were fun as fuck, but also boring. I avoided melee like the plague. BvB is chill, even smite or charge is fine, but ZvZ is the dumbest shit ever invented by people who couldn't duel, but who could literally drop 5-20k on a single fucking Diablo 2 character so they could pretend they were pro at it.
4v4 mirror funpk was some of the most fun I've ever had playing games, period. It was the most balanced and most skillful PK you'd find. Bone Nec, Trap Sin, WW Baba and Windy Druid vs the same match up. Ridiculously fast paced and it actually took skill to be able to hang with the good players. There was a clear skill gap and you could instantly tell if players were good or not.
The rules that were made, were for/because of the good players in the community. PKing an Orb Sorc who just runs and spams tele, while orbing all over the place, or a Poison Nec who literally does the same thing is nothing but cancer and is why the competitive scene made rules for PK. There's literally no skill in somebody just running and spamming an AoE skill.
