This is a big, big loss for the Patriots. Over the last 17 years, left tackle has been the second most stable spot on the roster, behind QB. Was Matt Light for 11 years, and Nate Solder for the last 6.
Never said it wasn't a huge loss, but one player isn't going to make a team who's been to the SB 3 times in the last four years and to the AFCCG seven times in the last seven years into a bad team, that's not how it works lol. Problem is that Brady could get hurt, and without even a decent backup behind him on our roster, we'd probably be pushing a .500 season at best, but you can't know a player is going to get hurt. There's still time for us to fill the hole, or improve elsewhere on the line, but it is undoubtedly a big loss and it dramatically decreases our chances of making a legitimate run at the SB this year if we're unable to find a replacement.
