QUOTE bob(Cs2 I have several thoughts on this :
Firstly, this makes it damn obvious that the 49ers are making a Superbowl push - they think it's now or never, so they are giving us probably a 3rd rounder.
Secondly, this also makes it clear that Banksy is a clear cut better player than Wright, and has that Buccaneer way that Schiano is looking for.
We can hope. I haven't seen footage on Banks collegiate play, so I won't speculate. What I do know however is Wright's considered to be a high end CB. However, we do know that the Bucs got rid of Talib, who imo is much better that Wright, so imo this is probably a discipline issue. Wright was suspended last year if I recall right, so perhaps Schiano and Dominik are worried he's going to cause problems during the season based on his preseason attitude. Gives us more time to replace him, or perhaps get a good backup for Banks, if he is what we are "banking on." tehehe ho ho ho.. fuck.
Not to mention this helps with our looming cap situation.
I was just thinking about this the other day after watching some vids on the Steelers. Pitt is my 2nd team for the pros, and I'm looking at them and worrying about 'em cause cap restraints are kicking their ass. Big Ben, and Lamar Woodley have contracts that give them over 160 million dollars. They had to trade off an elite WR in Wallace cause of these issues. And look at us now. 55 million for Nicks, and now 90 mill for Revis. God knows what we will pay Martin when his rookie contract is up. If he maintains his pace, he's gonna get AP kinda money, and look what that's doing to Minnesota. Frankly it's a plague in this league. The owners don't wanna look like dicks for releasing an elite player, so they pay em a shitfuckton of money, leaving them no cash to complete the team. Chris Johnson for example. The titans might be a playoff team just cause of his skill if they had another 40 million bucks to surround him with talent. /end rant
