It’s garbage regardless of what organization does it. The colts had an understanding that they got their guy. Now they don’t and all their other candidates are gone more than likely. This sets their organization back 2-3 years. Now, honestly, I believe they dodged a bullet with this as I don’t think he’d make a good head coach but the point remains. Teams shouldn’t be allowed to fight to retain coordinators unless they’re looking to take the same position elsewhere. What kind of pussy would rather be a coordinator instead of a head coach? Says all that needs to be said about McDaniels.

You rage about literally anything NE does, so it's kinda hard to take you seriously on a conversation regarding this team. Any other team and you seem pretty levelheaded, reasonable and knowledgeable, but your anger gets the best of you, and a lot of others when it comes to NE.

E: And as far as being an OC > HC, once again, if he was told that he's going to get the HC job in 1-2 years, it makes sense for him to stay no matter what. We don't know yet if that's the case, but if it ends up being that way, he's making the right move.

I don’t recall this happening in recent memory, but there are just certain things you don’t or shouldn’t be able to do. This is one of them. If you want to retain a coordinator, don’t let them interview for head coaching jobs. Make sure they’re staying put in advance.

I agree with the last part but it’s still garbage that he went through the interview process and gave the colts false hope. Now they’re going to hire someone’s plan b or c. These things should be settled before coordinators interview. They either stay or try to get a hc gig. No in between. Just childish by both parties and their indecision.
