But very classy guy for sure, wish him all the best, but it was definitely the right move. Now we got ~30M in cap space, let's get Cobb signed for a not too expensive price and do some work on D.

Packer Needs: (IMO)
1a. Sign Cobb
1b. Sign Buluga

Draft a solid big impact ILB/OLB if there in the first round

Draft at least 2 ILB's in the draft
Draft a corner

Resign Lattimore if cheap

Sign a FA corner possibly? (Lower mid-end)
Sign a backup qb possibly and Tolzien

Excited for the future, worried about the MLB spot, not that Hawk nor Jones did any good last year.
Hope we can find our defensive leader in the draft to fill that ILB spot to run the show for years and years to come and finally put together the missing piece in a pretty good defense.

Peppers , Shields, Williams, Matthews can all be leaders on the defense. I can see us drafting a DE or LB in the first round and second round. It's always been a shallow position for us.
We may go after another CB as well, and we always draft at least 1 WR. I have a feeling that TT is investing in Tolzien as a potential candidate for the future. He came out of college with similar qualities of Rodgers.
Only thing is, Rodgers has another 8 years most likely so Tolzien might end up being a career backup unless another team likes what they see.
Whoever we end up drafting for defense needs to be aggressive. These past few years our defense has lacked the passion and aggression that the top Ds have. Last year was a huge step, I think it was one of our best years defensively in a while.

I'm really looking forward to this upcoming season. McCarthy is a phenomenal personnel manager, and with him relinquishing playcalling duties, he'll have more time to devote to other aspects of the team.
I could maybe see us drafting a return specialist. Hyde/Cobb are good return men, but they're important players and I wouldn't want to see them get hurt on a return.

Make room for salary cap, plus his physical capabilities weren't enough anymore. Mentally he's still one of our top defensive players, but he just didn't have the stuff to back it up.
