Lets go over the picks.

Derek Barnett - Defensive end
Sidney Jone - Defensive back
Rasul Douglas - Cornerback
Mack Hollins - Wide receiver
Donnel Pumphrey - Runningback
Shelton Gibson - Wide receiver
Nathan Gerry - Safety
Elijah Qualls - Defensive lineman

The offensive picks look like throw aways.
1st round guy looks like a solid sack machine. Hope to see a better defensive line.
Lot of ends on the roster though so not sure if the line is being adjusted.

I think we hosted the best draft in recent years. Never seen a crowd more lively and energetic. It was definitely a success and I hope we get to host more drafts in the future.

@AdamSchefter
Props to the people of Philadelphia. That's how to host a draft. No city has injected that much energy, electricity, excitement into draft.

@andrewperloff
Mike Mayock said Bill Belichick called him to praise Philly crowd. Said you could feel energy coming through TV. That's pretty good.

When you get praise from Bill, you know it was fucking good.

As for the actual draft...

honestly this is the first draft in a while where I thought we did a good ass job. I think it might be our best one since either 2013 or 2012. Our recent drafting has been so shit so I'm glad I feel confident about our new players.

I would give B+ grade for now.

I really like Derek and I think he's going to shine playing alongside with Graham and Cox. I always felt that we had one of the better D-Line in the league but I thought we were still one stud away from being a elite unit and I think Derek might be the piece.

Sidney Jones is a great pick. He was touted as a top 15 pick until his injury and we were able to get him in the second round! If he makes a full recovery, he's a steal. I hope we redshirt him his rookie year.

Rasul, Mack, and Pumphrey picks are meh to me. I don't really know much about Rasul and I just hope he can be a contributor on the team. Our defensive back unit is pathetic except for the safeties. We really need good corners (shit I would even take average ones at this point).

I think Mack will be crucial to our ST unit though. Mayock thinks that Mack is the best special teams coverage team guy in the NFL. He might turn out to be a decent receiver too.

I think Pumphrey is too small to really make an impact but I guess he will serve as a change of pace back (although we have two other small backs on our roster).

It will be interesting to see which receivers will be with the team. We got some shitty log jam at receivers with Alshon, Torrey, Jordan, DGB, Nelson, Treggs, Turner, and now Shleton and Mack and we just signed Greg Ward as a UDFA too.

My guess is Treggs, Turner, Ward, and DGB/Nelson will be gone. Also don't be surprised if Jordan gets traded too. I like to give DGB and Nelson one more chance though. I think we already know what we have with Matthews and that is at best he will be a solid second receiver but I think he's better fit for the slot.

Also I'm glad we didn't reach for WRs and RBs. I would've loved Cook in the second round but I think Jones has a better value if healthy and CB is more of a pressing need for us. Can't believe Cook dropped that far though. I believe we tried to trade up for Cook in front of the Vikings but I guess the price was too steep.

I'm kind of glad the top three receivers went in the first ten picks. I would've loved Corey Davis though but oh well. I'm just glad we didn't panic and reach for a receiver in the first two rounds.

OJ Howard would've been a sexy pick though not going to lie. He would help out Wentz so much but we already have two solid TEs in Ertz and Celek. But I thought Howard could've been a game changer.

I'm also torn about Foster. He has a lot of red flags but we also have a hole in our LB unit. Kid is such a stud though.

Optimistic about the offense but the defense makes me think we have to claw our way to even an 8-8 season

Blount signing should see Mathews released.

huh?

defense is the strength of the team lol

we have 2 of the best DT in the league, one of the best edge rushers in the league and a rookie who has the potential to be a 10+ sack guy for years to come not to mention great rotational guys... i dont see anyone with a better d line than philly

we have one of the best linebackers in the game in hicks and bradham is a very good player and alot of people are down on kendricks but the potential is still there and he could bounce back...

2 pro bowl caliber safeties.

some very promising prospects at corner...

we went 7-9 last year and lost some very close games- could have easily won 10 or 11 games with a rookie qb and HC

we have improved on both sides off the ball- probably had the best offseason of any team in the league and you think we are going to have to fight to get to .500?

if we dont win atleast 10 games then we will have vastly underachieved and pederson should be fired.

Our defensive line was underwhelming af last year and who knows what its going to be this year. I dont know who this "one of the best edge rushers in the game" is you're referring to, but we didnt see any of that last year. Graham was really good, but it was his first decent season since we drafted him and I'm not relying on him to keep playing at that level consistently. If he does, then great. Curry had a miserable season, Cox was good but he wasn't "Cox good". We lost logan and we cut barwin. Barnett looks like a beast but he'll probably just be rotated between graham and curry so we'll see how that goes.

Secondary is still absolutely atrocious. I like jenkins and im ok with mcleod but outside of that it gets pretty rough. Mckelvin has been a disappointment and jalen mills still has a ton of developing to do. Sidney Jones should be a solid play-maker once he's healthy, but who knows how long that will take and how cautious they will be with him.

The offense should be the showcase for this team with the FA acquisitions we've made. Now I've said this before and have totally eaten my words, so i don't want to get my hopes up too high before we actually see them play. Jeffery, smith, matthews, Eartz, Sproles, Blount. Wentz has some weapons around him and hopefully he'll utilize them. A full season under his belt and weapons all around, wentz doesn't have any excuses now. Same goes for Dougie P. He absolutely cannot make he same coaching mistakes he made last year in which he undoubtedly cost us games. One that comes to mind is the first game against dallas.

brandon graham had more hurries than any other player in the league and was ranked #2 of all edge rushers on pff.anyone who doesnt view him as a top edge rusher is an idiot. mckelvin isnt even on the team anymore lol.
