Is it too late to get into this? I played it a little in '12 but never really got into it in '13

no it's not, there are tons of Solo Challenges which makes it different than '12. I didnt like '12 so much because you always had to play head to head, and there was so many teams that would have a 75 rating and be a team full of all stars
