Do you guys view this Texans season as a great success regardless of how much further they can advance in the playoffs? Not many media experts are giving them much of a chance to win at Baltimore on Sunday. I feel it's a great opportunity to play their first road playoff game against one of the best teams in the AFC. The experience they're getting can't be done any other way.

This is the type of situation I was hopng to see them reach three or four years ago. It took way too long to become a playoff team when you consider how much talent they have stockpiled during Rick Smith's tenure as general manager. Even Charley Casserly's last two drafts were quite successful. The main challenge this off-season is going to be to keep Wade Phillips as defensive coordinator. I hope he doesn't leave for a head coaching job.

Wade Phillips will interview with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday. Hopefully he doesn't get offered the head coaching job. I think Bob McNair will give him a pay raise. He's already the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the league. His value goes way down as a head coach because that's not what his bread and butter of success is.

If the Texans can pull the huge upset on the road against the Ravens on Sunday, and reach the AFC Championship with a third-string quarterback and without their best defensive player for practically the entire season (Mario Williams)... I'd label this season as one of the most inspiring of all time. It would be just as impressive as what Tim Tebow is doing in Denver.

you cant say we reached the playoffs with a third string
yates won 1/4th the game that clinched us
won a game that didnt even matter
and then lost 3 in a row to the worst teams in our schedule

It's not much to go on considering the injuries though. Most other teams wouldn't be able to win 10 regular-season games and win a playoff game dealing with the notable injuries Houston had this year. People keep saying the Packers won the Super Bowl last year with numerous players on IR, but it's the magnitute of the injuries that make the glaring difference.

Packers, Saints, Patriots, Ravens, Giants, 49ers: Any so-called good team out there...

Take away their top two quarterbacks, their best best defensive player. And then break their right guard's leg and make sure their top wide receiver has a bad hamstring. Would any of those teams be able to do what Houston is doing? Much less remain competitive?

I'm pretty sure all of those teams would greatly suck under those circumstances. Maybe the Ravens and 49ers would still remain good because they don't need great quarterback play with their strong defenses and run game.

T.J. Yates wasn't even expected to dress up for a game when the regular season started. He went from holding a clipboard in street clothes to becoming the starting quarterback on a team loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. And I mentioned if they can upset the Ravens on the road with a third-string quarterback it would be just as big as all of the Tim Tebow mania.

i agree to a certain extent
but we did play alot of bad teams
and you cant say that our defense was crippled
as it was even better without mario than it was with statistically speaking

even with foster injured
tate still carried the game

and schaub didnt get out till we were practically clinched

only thing i completely agree on here is having andre out for literally the season
