Completely agree, bob. I see more than a few people going back and watching 1 or 2 good games of Glennon and thinking we have a franchise QB on our hands, and that we'll end up trading Josh before the season starts. So stupid.

I'm happy that we're throwing more picks into our D-line, but I wanted at least one offensive lineman this draft. I'm not unhappy with it overall, but definitely not as excited as I was in other Dom drafts. That said, Darrelle freakin' Revis <3

That's because Freeman should be traded before the season starts.

Banks is going to be a strong contender for our #2 CB right away.  I really like that we got him.

Which should give nice depth with Eric Wright as well.

As long as we can get pressure on the QB.  I really like our Linebackers.

Agree. If Clayborn and Bowers can consistently provide a pass rush, we should have a really good defense.

That's a really serious Freeman hater, most of them I've seen at least admit we'd be incredibly hard pressed to find better options at QB this year.

Believe it or not, I'm in the same boat and have been for awhile. He's capable of being great, we saw that in 2010... and even last year, besides his atrocious 4 game stretch, he had a really good year stat wise.

His sophomore year, he was just so much more dynamic. He had an incredible knack of knowing when to take off and run, and it's almost like our Front Office scared him out of doing that. Something's changed, because he never utilizes his athleticism properly anymore, even with all the shed weight.

If he's not a more consistent player in 2013, then it'll break my heart as he's my favorite player in the league, but a change will need to come.

Josh Freeman Enters The Hot Seat
April 30th, 2013

The Bucs will say otherwise, of course, but it doesn’t take a sleuth to figure out the Bucs are trying to force feed quarterback Josh Freeman to become an upper-echelon quarterback, not a bottom rung kind of guy.

He has all the toys a quarterback could want, plus a bruising front wall of an offensive line and a retooled defense to help him hold leads.

Someone with pull at One Buc Palace must not believe Freeman can lead the Bucs to January games given the Bucs drafted third-round quarterback Mike Glennon.

This is not lost on the “Total Access” crew at the NFL Network, as Daniel Jeremiah explains to Paul Burmeister why he thinks Freeman is on the proverbial hot seat now that the Bucs have Glennon.

Not only do Phil Simms and Rich Gannon think a lot of Glennon, so too does NFL Films Xs and Os guru Greg Cosell. He details why below.

This video actually makes me feel a hell of a lot better about the pick now. I trust Cosells judgement, and I like what i hear. I want Freeman to have that contract, career and playoff run ths year - it's his time but if it doesn't work out, I don't feel worried that this guy couldn't do a good job. He likes to use his frame to throw outside the pocket and thats cool, big ben stylee and he appears to have the attributes, albeit slacking in the basics and I don't see why our coaching staff can't coach him up, get him accurate and fix those mechanics and bring on pre-season! I look forward to seeing him while Free sits on the bench chilling before some domination starts week 1.

Hokies, whats your beef with Glennon? You said you have seen him quite a bit?

His throws weren't very good... Accuracy was an issue at least every time they played Virginia Tech.

He has a big arm but uhh i just don't see him as our QB.
