well shit.. I actually feel a bit better hearing this. Thanks for the response
Still not confident, I'm on a 50/50 split with this game. You already said it in the Jags thread though (and I said it here), it depends on which Bortles shows up, and if he looks like he did against Pittsburgh, we're probably going to be in some trouble, unless Brady has the game of his fucking career to counteract it, and it'd still probably be close. As fans, we could only pray for something that epic, and as terrible as it sounds, I'm just praying that Bortles shits the bed lol. Sorry to say, but it's our best chance at making the SB, and I feel much better about the match-ups vs Minnesota/Philly, you guys are the ones who have scared me since you secured your spot this year.
Either way, I know we get into it a lot, but I hope this is a great game unmarred by fuckery, and I just wanna say good luck. If nothing else, maybe we could at least be civil to one another during this one lol.
Just when he needs it to be. Seriously though, this is something that's talked about constantly in NE games lol.
A lot of it depends on if we're in our base front, or in nickle. In base we have Myles Jack at SLB, Paul Posluszny at MLB and Telvin Smith at WLB. In nickle Poz comes out, Jack moves over to MLB and we bring in Aaron Colvin as our 5th DB.
I can see you guys going no huddle a lot when we're in base, so you can expose Poz in coverage. Teams have did it to us this season and I absolutely see you guys doing it. Brady is just too good not to take advantage of the mismatches. Poz is no match covering somebody like Dion Lewis, or anybody really.
Jack and Smith are incredibly fast and athletic LBs though. As you seen by Smith recovering that fumble in yesterday's game, dude is fast. They're always all over the field.
I'm sure Ramsey and Bouye wont be tested much, like usual.
It'll be interesting to see what we do against Gronk though. Obviously he's a mismatch. A lot of times this season we'd bring our safety Tashaun Gipson down and play man vs the other team's TE. Usually Ramsey would rotate back to safety when that happens. Gipson hurt his foot and left the game yesterday, but he said he'll be playing Sunday. Wonder if they'll let him try his hand one vs one with Gronk or not. Honestly, I'd love to see Ramsey go one on one with Gronk.
I expect to see Brady try and get the ball out of his hands very fast. Pressure from our front 4 will be the key of course. Specifically inside pressure. We aren't a blitzing Defense, but they do it sometimes. Don't think we blitzed once yesterday though and I hope we don't blitz Brady either.
Bortles doesn't have to be perfect, he just can't be fucking terrible. Make a few plays, make smart decisions and use your fucking legs. He doesn't need to do it all the time, but he should absolutely run the ball. Nothing wrong with picking up a 3rd and 6 with a 8 yard scramble.
