So, I'm starting to hear that BB wanted to move on from Brady, but Kraft wouldn't let him. What do you guys think the odds of that are? If there's any truth to this, do you think we've got a chance of signing Jimmy after the season and moving on from Brady?
yeah that theory has been out in the local media for weeks, it's spread around by a few radio hosts i listen to. I think there is some merit to that theory but as far as I know it's just speculation (good luck finding a named source with ties to the organization say this on the record)
does this answer your last question?

The 49ers can either place the franchise tag on him or sign him to a long-term contract, and speaking to reporters on Tuesday, 49ers general manager John Lynch says the organization intends on keeping him for a "long, long time."
"Look, we want Jimmy to be a Niner for a long, long time, and that process is going to take place here and we're eager to get that done, to have the opportunity," Lynch said.
Lynch said any contract negotiations would not be made public.
the only way I see him leaving is if he's unhappy there and it sure looks like he's happy right now; he's starting games and winning games. As long as Lynch and Shannahan are in place in San Fran I don't see Jimmy leaving anytime soon at all. The one scenario I could see him maybe thinking about leaving San Fran is if they aren't having great success & try to do him like Washington/Snyder did Cousins, that seems very unlikely though. Just my two cents.
