Sam Shields has been cleared to practice. He called it a learning experience and says next time, he'll go down instead of trying to make a play.

McCarthy chose this as the week in which the Packers will practice more than once in full pads, which I guess makes the most sense.

Finley talked about his contract a bit last night. He said he hopes to have a long term contract done by season's end, but he wouldn't be mad if the Packers opted to use the franchise tag on him for next season. Sounds like he really wants to stay - wish he would have had this maturity all along.

Team signed Brandon Saine off the practice squad to replace Alex Green. So much for kickoffs being safer this season...

I wasn't worried about the Chargers watching the game last night until the fourth quarter. Rivers seemed like he could do no wrong leading them down the field for a touchdown, and it looked like he would easily finish off the game winning drive until that fumble. Seems like we just need to wait and see which San Diego team shows up this weekend, but things have only been going downhill for them since the start of the season.

All honesty, it seems like the Packers aren't going to throw finley a huge offer considering they are already close to the Cap and have signed everybody else. I don't know if they will offer him enough for him to come back :(
Sad but all good things come to an end.

Ted is one savvy motherf***er. If he wants JFin back, he'll get him back.

Was thinking about both of these things. I don't know how much longer Finley will be willing to play in GB if he's not made one of the more-well paid tight ends. He made 475k his first three seasons, and his base salary this year went up to 1.2m. The cost for a franchise tag on a tight end this season was 7.3m, which is expected to raise next season. Knowing Finley's ego and Ted's policy with Free Agents, I am kind of worried that if a deal doesn't get done soon, we won't see Finley in the green and gold next season...

5.25m, 203k roster bonus, incentives for being on the active roster for all 16 games (this year and next). He'll likely end up released now that Newhouse has been forced into the starting spot.

Driver is probably on his last season too.

He's signed for next season (2.6m base, 2.2m roster bonus, 220k workout bonus), but I think he'll willingly walk away after this season. Just the way he talks now makes it sound like he knows he's on his way out. Hope he does it on his terms and nobody else's. It's a shame, because he could still be an effective #3/4 WR, there's just no room for him here anymore.

However, it's worth noting that 2012 is still a soft cap (I believe), and 2013 is when we will see a hard cap again. However, I know before the season, the Packers were one of 4 teams that had 35+ guys with back loaded contracts that really needed to be redone. They've obviously worked on that, but without seeing updated numbers (which I can't find anywhere), it's still a bit worrisome.

I don't know about you guys, but I feel like this is going to be driver's breakout game. I have a feeling the run isn't going to work to well and they will for the most part cover really well but while in doing that they leave driver open on a couple 2-3 big plays 10-30 yarder's. Driver scores big on a 40 yard play, 73 yards.

My prediction - 1 Td, 73 Yards, 4 Catches.
