He played surprisingly well last year, but he's declining, albeit only slightly. Kind of had to expect it from a guy who's turning 32. Can't cover as well as he used to

Of course he's declining, but he still could have helped us greatly. A very experienced Vet LB, who could still clearly play the game at this level. Our LB depth right now is just bad.

We have Geno Hayes (don't get me wrong, hes been solid, but he is what he is) playing the Will as a 2 down LB, with Rookie Telvin Smith coming in at the Will in Nickel situations (better at Coverage because of his great speed, but he's an inexperienced rookie who is pressing/learning still).

Poz is obviously the Mike, he's definitely solid, but he's overpaid and isn't getting any younger. J.T Thomas is his backup... Enough said..

At the Otto LB position (basically the Sam backer, but a little different) we have LaRoy Reynolds and Dekoda Watson. Both have got a chance to start at the position this season, only to get benched (far too many mental errors and missed tackles) in favor of J.T Thomas this past week. Needless to say, he didn't show much of anything either at the position. Granted, we played mostly Nickel this past week against the Chargers, but still. This is our most pressing LB position right now imo. Something needs to change here quick and I think Arthur Brown would be a good fit. Daryl would have been ideal for our Otto as well. <_<

We also have a rookie named Jeremiah George who we pulled from, I wanna say the Dolphins practice squad like a week ago. Again, enough said there..

He definitely should have been, but he had a failed test right before the Combine and he's slight in weight. 6'3, but 218 pounds for a LB.

Dude can flat out fly though and has the frame to easily add more weight. The plan is to have him up 10-15 pounds by the start of next season. There's a lot of hope for him because he can flat out play and has flashed a bunch of times, but like I said he's a rookie still. Hes made his share of mistakes, but I think he's definitely our long term Will.

ok, that makes more sense. I'd have no issues with Jones as a free agent (I know he just signed with Indy), but he's not worth a trade imo.

for Brown though, I'd have absolutely no issues if we could snake him for a 4th or 5th round pick.

That would be fucking bullshit and I would seriously slit. Special Teams issues aside, Harbs and Ozzie have to see the talent he has... Our defense would have so much speed with Mosley and Brown at LB; Terrence Brooks and Elam at safety.

As kargus/bluth just said, he isn't really an inside backer. I believe he's better fitted at the Sam.

What also hurts is you guys haven't let him play enough to show he was worth that 2nd round pick. I honestly think the best you guys would be able to get is a 3rd and that might even be generous
