THE SERIES

AT MIAMI: Dolphins lead 10-8-1
AT OAKLAND: Raiders lead 10-5
AT LOS ANGELES: Teams tied 1-1
LAST MEETING: 2012 at Miami; Dolphins 35, Raiders 13
HISTORY LESSON: The last time the Dolphins faced the Raiders somewhere other than Miami or Oakland was Oct. 9, 1988 when the Raiders were based in Los Angeles. That day, the Dolphins beat the Raiders on the road for the first time in 10 tries with a 24-14 victory. The Dolphins broke a scoreless tie by outscoring the Raiders 24-0 in the second quarter, thanks in part to safety Liffort Hobley’s 19-yard fumble return.
SERIES TREND: While the Raiders had the better of things early in the series, the Dolphins have dominated of late with 10 victories in the last 12 meetings, including six by 10 points or more. Miami has won the last four meetings and the last three were decided by an average score of 34-15.
