How can you even try to say that the U.S. wouldn't have a better team if Soccer was more important here?
Sure, the U.S. has placed in the top 4 in medal count in the Olympics in the last 50+ years. But to think if our top athletes caring about Soccer would make us relevant in the sport would make us serious contenders? That's pure fucking stupidity.
Should have bolded the unintelligent part I guess.
"A lot of those other countries, their best athletes only play soccer.". LOL.
Spain - Rafael Nadal, Fernando Alonso?
UK - Lewis Hamilton, Andy Murray?
Serbia - Most successful basketball nation, Djokovic?
Germany - Sebastian Vettel...
I'm sorry but only a retard (American) would think that other countries ONLY play football. Yes, football is a major sport for most nations, but many of these football nations have dominated other sports like tennis, basketball, rugby, formula 1, etc, etc.
Basketball is one of the largest sports in America, yet Serbia, a tiny country has won more FIBA world cups than they have. Even after NBA athletes being allowed, the champions have been Serbia, Serbia, Spain and USA.
All in all USA is a nation of 320 million people, even if only 5% of of the country plays football that's more than the entire population of some countries (Uruguay, two time world cup winner, population 3 million). It would only be embarrassing if the USA didn't have athletes at world level.
