All 4 super bowls are also in the past, and like I said, the best teams operate primarily out of the shotgun. Tell me the last time I team was great operating primarily from under center with a fullback and a tight end. It doesnt happen, the game is changing towards spreading the field out and we need to change with it. Obviously, Eli isn't the read option quarterback a lot of teams have, but an offense similar to New Orleans or Denver where they operate primarily out of the shotgun and still maintain decent run games. Our offense should revolve around Eli, and its much easier on any quarterback from shotgun. Its nonsensical to run a power run scheme and take away options from one of the best quarterbacks in the league, when we should be doing the opposite.

While I love Eli and all that, he can't throw the ball 35+ times a game and win...he makes too many dumb decisions. Gotta run the ball and they don't have the personnel to run out of the gun...and run games out of the gun are way too inconsistent.

Hes matured with age, he is certainly capable of throwing 35 times a game, thats the only way we'll be successful at this point

No it's not...how many games did he cost us this year?

As far as him throwing a lot..yes he can do it, but not 16 games a year. That's why we have had 3 straight losing seasons or four or whatever it is. We won't make the playoffs again with Eli if he's throwing the ball that often.

can we plz just all put our offensive philosophies aside and agree that our front 7 on defense needs a drastic improvement.

As an offense we put up enough points, it was our defense allowing such propostoirous late game scores that lost us games this year. Sure Eli had a few clock management blunders but that can also be blamed on a lack of communication with the coaches.

We need an interior defensive line and another edge rusher across from JPP. Linebackers are okay, they'd really benefit from not having pylons in front of them

jpp doesnt have it anymore. he cant even tackle. certainly not worth the $. we need to sign ayers jr and probably draft a pass rusher at 10.

our linebackers have been a consistent weak spot for our team for too long.

Linebackers are quite alright for me...Brinkley is the real deal and better fucking sign and play every snap in the middle. Could always use more which is why I'm about to name one in this next bit...my top 3 free agent targets this year would be as follows in this order and remember..we have the cap space to do it..

Muhammad Wilkerson - Hankins, Mo, bromley and Jenkins (if resigns at league min) for interior lineman??? Would be unreal..with the versatility Mo would give, spags could do a lot with the front four including these next two

Bruce Irvin - really like this kid..he'd help our pass rush tremendously and while I love Kennard, he is injury prone..would add great depth at lb and help our shit pass rush.

Olivier Vernon - Vernon-whoever else (RE), Mo-Hankins-Bromley-Jenkins (DT), JPP(if resigns cheap)-Ayers (think he is a must keep) for LE...would be a great defensive line

And of course I think they need a solid veteran free safety as well..but those 3 are my top guys as of now..id love to see what spags can do with that..probably a better front 4 than theyve had since the late 80's early 90's

And despite our shit pass rush this year and jpp looking like crap, I still like he and Ayers. Our secondary was soft due to our weak safeties. If they can fix that I believe you'll see a big difference in our pass rush. Even if they have the same front 7 next year.

On what planet was JPP bad this year? Despite the obvious adjustment to playing without a hand he graded out as a top 15 4-3 DE

Jet fan , but plenty of giant fans in the family

jpp actually did surprisingly well for a man with 1 hand and a club.
Eli is fine, especially with Odell in the mix

None the less giants are a bit of a mess.

The last time the Giants had a true workhorse rb? Was it tiki? Rbc rarely works and yet teams still tend to do it.
While Odell can beat double coverage all day, the Giants have dick we wise besides him, they need a good #2. Victor Cruz might never play again (hasn't played in 2 years)
Defense is a mess, they picked up drc which was great, but with lil pass rush, and lil defense, the Giants got consistently torched through the air.

The coach had to go, let's face it. Way old school coach and times have changed. In all reality besides his 2 Super Bowl wins (which is great) he had a losing record as a coach, even the years the Giants won they barely squeaked in with like a 500 record.

Time to rebuild.

I live in ny, and while I cannot stand giant fans because they can talk shit on the jets. I'd still rather see a ny team go and win the super bowl.

Good luck next year
