So I'm not super excited by anything Trubisky has done yet. Let's be honest, our defense has played a big part in winning the last two games. Trubisky's had anemic pass attempts. I like his scramble, I like his ability to keep plays alive yet, I like that he seems to have better awareness in the pocket, and I know he's brand spanking new but I'm not sold on him being amazing and I think anyone thinking this is crazy.

Either way, I wasn't sure we'd muster more than 5 wins this season but am now encouraged at what I'm seeing. Bear down.

He is last year's goff. No one to throw to, let's see what happens next year.

I agree we have a pretty injured WR core. However, I sort of feel like the great QBs elevate mediocre WRs. Don't get me wrong, there are great WRs without great QBs, but the amazing QBs work with the receivers they have.

Very rarely. I can't think of more than 1 actually. And to call what the bears have at WR mediocre is being very generous.

When he throws the ball it looks good, but 4/7 ..... Bears have pretty much ruled out that we will see anything in the passing game this year. Gonna be ground and pound and defense that wins for the Bears this year.

It would be silly to trade assets for a receiver this year. Just re tool next year

Yeah, I'm not saying we are even at the mediocre level, I agree we are not.

Yep. I said a few years ago in this thread that these next few years will be rebuild years. Maybe we can become contenders next year? Better yet, surprise me this year!

Thompson had a 100 yard receiving game and we let him go.

So realistically the Bears are not contenders this season so they should be letting Trubisky toss the ball more so he can get the game experience. Cause if next year with another draft, a re-tooled receiving core and a few FA on defense and shit, Bears could realistically contend for the division. So better to let him work out the kinks now so he’s ready next year for a real run

But I get it. It’s hard when literally no one is open and your best receiver is a 3/4 on an other team
