Going to rant a bit.
Tomorrow's game against Jets will probably decide the season for us imo. It will show what kind of team we are.
I think Jets are a better team and their defense is no joke. I'm not saying we have to absolutely win but it would be nice if our offense can show some functionality and that we can actually play game of football.
I'm predicting a loss but if we make it a close game with our offense actually being able to move the ball and score then I would be more assured.
One thing is that although Todd looks like a good defensive coach so far, our offense had no trouble moving the ball against cardinals (when Todd was defensive coord) in the past two years.
Chips been getting roasted this past week and I can't really say he didn't deserve it.
He let a lot of talented players go such as Desean, Mathis, and Maclin (although it was more of a money issue, Maclin said that Chip didn't show much interest of resigning him). I know Mathis was also another contract problem but I can't help but think Chip's ego got in his head.
If Chips wants to win in the NFL, he has to learn how to adjust. We need to control the pace and stop going so fast when we constantly go 3 and out. Huddle once in a while good god. Give the defense a break.
It would be nice if we don't snap the ball right away too so that Bradford can take a look at the defense and make audible or adjustment if needed to.
Our blocking has been horrific and its a big issue because it's not just the new guards, its everyone. Celek who was the best TE blocker last two years suddenly forgot how to block. I never seen such a decline. They were numerous times last year where he could handle an DE by himself. Now he is just getting blown up. Peters has finally showed signs of age. He is still solid but he has made couple mistakes. Kelce also is getting flagged ridiculous amount. He's missing assignments and letting defensive players shoot right through the gap.
Our receivers are getting no separation. And when they do, they can't catch a ball to save their life. Jordan has what? three dropped passes so far. Riley had that huge drop on that third down.
Bradford hasn't played well but I can't really blame him when he's getting no help (which is really ironic because that's what people said when he was with the Rams)
