We have the Jets, KC, SD, and Denver to round out our season--yikes! I think three of those games are winnable, because the Jets aren't very good, KC's record is heavily buffered, and we beat SD once before. Denver is for obvious reasons out of our reach (and they will likely be playing the last week to secure the #1 seed in the AFC).
For these last few games, I'd like to see McGloin and Pryor split time, as well as see several of the backup WRs get some extra snaps (esp Ford and Holmes). I think that we have an excellent opportunity to take some time at the end of this season to decide which direction we're going to move forward in come draft day, because IMO that changes our drafting priorities...if we stick with McGloin, getting a true #1 WR becomes a big priority.
I was very pleased with Veldheer's play last week. I'm happy to say that LT is one position I think we have covered, which leaves us needing only 2-3 new linemen to really make an impact. Ideally we'd replace all 4, but if we can improve in 2 of those remaining positions, we're looking at a reasonable lineup. I'd say look for one FA, one in the first 3 rounds of the draft and one in the later rounds as a prospect.
DBs are still a concern. Does anyone know what the FA market will look like?
