I always fear that push rush, but this team might just be a bit different than in the past

Jaguars D to Denver is a good comparison for sure

I want to go back to Denver game. These are not excuses...
First, I want to point out the o-line coach was instantly fired after that Denver game. Line has been great since bringing back Scarnecchia
Marcus Cannon(super bum at the time) forced to line-up against GOAT Von form -- got absolutely man handled. Good to see him now. Looking like our best tackle
Underrated Dev. blocking machine, did not play
The biggest difference to me is the ability to catch by our backs.
James White is a different player + Dion Lewis in form, oh baby
That helps sooooooooo much against pressure
So the ability to protect imo is a bit better than in the past, especially compared to that game
Truly, if that's @ NE, do Denver win? Maybe, but I don't think it would of been that close since Manning was injured.

I'd be scared of Jags away from Gillitte, but the way this team is built, i'm not fearing a pass rush like in the past. What I fear is a team that can control the tempo + throw the ball in the red zone.
I've said it before, the only reason our defense isn't statistically worse, maybe even at a historic level is because of Tom Brady controlling tempo.
Teams keep trying to run the ball -- and they are successful, but it seems they are wasting time to get into the red zone and not come away with 7.
Bruh, you ain't going to set the pace against the Patriots if you can only score 3 and Brady will score 7 lol...

But we are all morons who talk out of our asses so why are people even here :)

Brought plenty, you just completely fucking disregard it.

You have a bum of a QB who hasn't had a single season with a 2:1 INT ratio. On Mannings run where he was terrible and his defense was good, he managed to not shit the bed, something Bortles is an expert at. Your defense has put up great numbers against terrible teams, and is 1:1 against decent teams. All irrelevant though, because I'm Hako, look at me, you're so dumb, rawr rawr rawr. Jags #1, winning the SB with ease.

I clearly directed that comment at aniema..

but jesus christ you guys are fucking pathetic.

Never said anything about us beating you guys or winning the superbowl. That's all your fanbase saying that shit.

All I said was that you guys should look at your Conference first, before worrying about the Vikings or Eagles.

I said that this Defense was the real deal and they said it was no where near the caliber of Defense Denver's was. I disagreed and provided hard numbers. Josh doesn't like being proven wrong like usual so he tries to flip it on me blah blah.

I was trying to have a legit discussion here, but like usual I'm the bad guy LMAO. Whatever.

Says the guy losing his shit since I don't think the Jags will win the SB.... Seems legit

How quickly people forget about 2015 Peyton Manning and the Broncos. Bortles is way better than 2015 Manning, yet they still won the Superbowl that year with him. Why? Because an elite Defense carried them. An Elite defense just like we currently have lol. Oh yea, and they happened to beat your Brady and Belichick that year lmao.

Whole lot of assuming going on here lmao.

Clearly not him discussing the Jags being contenders, that was all everyone else....

Tried the point out the difference between being a great defense, and being one of the best defenses of the past decade. That was apparently completely out of line though, and I'm the asshole.

I totally understand man. I however, will always try and put all that extra bullshit to the side though -- I'm not one to get caught up in that, but ofc we all get annoyed and it gets the best of us time to time..

I agree with you 100%. I haven't labeled the Jags a threat yet mainly because I haven't watched them too much. Cannot speak about what I don't know
Pitt is a threat. KC is a threat. Jags seem like the next team for sure
Road to the Superbowl is by no means a free ride

You're right about those defenses being similar. Holy shit that is scary. And I know Ramsey is baaaaaad man
Jags appear to be better in some areas as well

It's fair for them to say
Manning can manage a game -- where as Bortles might try to win it and probably be why you they'd lose (not saying this is going to happen)
As long as he isn't playing hero ball, I don't see why a top defense can't win games/upset come playoff time

Maybe you should quote the reply that my bottom quote was responding to. It was in response to aniema asking for another example for a team with a dominating defense winning the Super Bowl during Brady and Belichick era...

And I'm not losing my shit. You just think you know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING.

I'm done wasting my time here. All you're going to do is try and twist my words like usual. You were wrong. Deal with it.

This Defense is the real deal. It has play makers at every level.

It's all going to depend on the Offense though. Bortles has to keep playing solid football and limit the mistakes.

The OL has to get healthy (it's been doing ok with patch work atm) and the run game has to stay strong. As long Bortles doesn't have a break down and throw 2 pick sixes, or the Special Teams doesn't have another blunder and give up 17 points like they did vs the Rams. This Defense will absolutely keep us in every game.

Edit: We're currently #3 in the AFC and I'd agree with that. Pats and Steelers being ahead of us of course.

The reason I disagree with that statement is because those AFC games are going to be at home. Since 2007, Brady is 53-2 when hosting AFC teams (one of those losses was a week 17 game resting starters). Overall in his career, he's 17-3 at home in the playoffs. His ability to win at home is so obscene, it's a wonder that he hasn't been suspected of trying to cheat or something.

If the Pats drop a few games and end up with a lower seed than the Jaguars, then we can start talking about being worried. If it were possible to play them at a neutral site, then it would be a conversation. But the way things are currently set up, worrying about losing at home to the Jags is as silly as worrying that the '07 team could lose to a mediocre Giants team.

If you keep rolling d20s, you are eventually going to roll a 1. But it's silly to actively worry about it.

Never said you should be worried, simply that you shouldn't just be looking straight past them.

It doesn't matter what happens, when you have Brady, you have a chance no matter what.
