It was clear from the start that we'd get a player for every team we defeated, regardless of a trade deadline. Haven't seen anyone argue this but you and I'm assuming you're just dedicated to the troll and doubling down.
it was clear from the start you could trade a player each week until the trade deadline.

Addendum to rules:
Everyone has access to waivers, but a day later than the Vampire. He'll be drafting last and only retired/unsigned/ded players and then acquiring players leftover after the draft. He has to make a call for the player he wants for that opponent by Wednesday of that week to thief after winning. Ex. Vamp calls for Andrew Luck, beats the team, takes Luck, but can't go after another QB the following week and the losing team gets a Vamp QB as compensation.
tl;dr
Trading and waivers are allowed for non-Vampires, but at a lower priority than the Vamp.

Payouts to 1st, 2nd and 3rd dependent on how many name changes.
What's this?
9-11 teams snake draft like normal, while the vampire team does not. Once the draft is complete the vampire makes a team out of the remainders on the waiver wire.
The catch: The 11 teams that drafted can neither trade nor pick up from waivers.
If the vampire team beats another team, he gets to trade one of his starters for one of the other teams starters...and you have no say in who (Like positions).
You may intentionally bench players to prevent the vampire from taking them but keep in mind that every team that finishes worse than the vampire at the end of the playoffs is subject to a year long name change.
Prize payout is dependent on how many name changes are needed at the end of the season. First come, first serve.
both of these posts you call it trading. and you set a trade deadline. You set the rules, you cant change them in week 12 when you realized your mistake.
