My thoughts on the Eagles game.

First half was miserable. Run game couldn't get anything going and we couldn't pass protect and Sam was off with the receivers. Our defense was pretty bad too. No pass rush and our run defense was worse than what I expected. Their no name RBs were having decent game against us. I thought our front 7 was going to be top 5 this year but maybe I was way off.

I knew Byron was never going to live up to his contract or the expectations set in but my god did he look awful. And I blame a lot on Billy Davis who just refuses to double #1 receiver at times. it's like he didn't learn anything from last year against the Cowboys where Dez kept burning us all game long. Julio is a top 5 receiver in the game. Don't leave him alone with Maxwell. Throw a safety over the top or something. Thurmond looks pretty good. Hopefully he stays healthy. I don't think Nolan is a starting caliber cb.

Cutting Evan really hurt us. Our line looked awful both in pass protection and run blocking. Kelce couldn't stop holding on a run play (even though one holding call was bogus) and both guards were just getting beat constantly. Peters made few mistakes but he did great overall but he's old. He's not going to be constantly great as he was before.

Our receivers didn't do shit. Was pretty disappointed in Nelson who basically got shut out. Jordan Matthews had a good game except for that drop that led to fumble. He always had minor dropping problems since college. I remember his fantastic game against Ole Miss but dropped the last pass on the last drive which led to a pick. Hopefully it's something he can fix. We don't have a #1 receiver on our team right now and it hurts.

As for our runningbacks, I say they did ok. Our line was pretty bad blocking. Demarco didn't do anything special and Ryan dropped that crucial pass. Sproles did his thing. Sproles is 32 but is still one of the fastest and quickest guy out there. Thank god for Sproles.

Sam had a decent game. He was off in the first half. He missed a throw to Ertz which would have been a TD and bit overthrew Miles (who honestly should have caught that). He was not on the same page as the receivers for good portion of the game. His short, intermediate throws looked accurate. Thankfully.
