Signed were three veterans – QB Jordan Palmer, FB Naufahu Tahi and DT Odrick Ray – and four rookies in WR Mike Brown, WR Chris Forcier, LB Donovan Richard and DB Jeremiah Brown.

The following players were waived: QB Dan LeFevour, WR Jarett Dillard, S Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, WR Nelson Rosario, WR Jarrett Boykin and DE Frank Trotter.

The Jaguars will hold a left cornerback competition between Aaron Ross and incumbent Rashean Mathis in training camp.
Mathis is coming off a late-season ACL tear and Ross signed a relatively large offseason contract, so the latter figures to be the favorite. Coach Mike Mularkey indicated that the loser of the Mathis-Ross battle will be the Jaguars' nickel back. Ross should cover the slot on passing downs regardless.

Exactly and we aren't in training camp yet. Mathis is a head of schedule, but is still a question mark. They will battle it out and the loser will probably jump over to the slot seeing as they cut Coleman. Neither would play safety, we already have true safeties.

Depends on how Mathis' ACL heals up. I wouldn't be against Middleton getting a shot on the other side of Cox. He played very good whenever he had to come in for either Cox or Mathis due to injury. He can play Nickel, Left or Right CB. He's a big part of Special Teams though, so they may want to keep him as a back up and STer.
