Overall I don't like the trade and here's why: we already traded Jacoby, who wasn't great by any stretch but at least he kinda knew the offense and had some familiarity with the team. Now we just traded our best backup, so... if brady somehow gets injured, we have little to no shot at winning the super bowl (might as well say 0.1%), whereas with Jimmy, I'd still like our chances of being competitive.
BUT
he, Jimmy G, was drafted 62 overall, so effectively, we used him and won two rings with him and than still flipped him for a top 2nd round pick (see Schefty tweet below), a higher value than what we drafted him at. (will probably end up being a #34/#35 overall pick). Next years draft will be interesting if we don't make any more trades/deal away picks before the deadline tomorrow.
