I'm going to post a topic someone on the Giants boards came up with.

Know all that junk about, "Oh, who have we beaten?"

Quote
Well, Houston has allowed the lowest QBR on avg (which included our game where Eli had an excellent QBR) of 33. That means, they have decimated the passing games of the other teams they faced.

Washington, going into our week, had top 5 pass and run defenses.

And, the 2 teams we fell to?

Detroit, who has the #1 defense (last I checked last week) and AZ, who allows the fewest yards per game (actually it might be they are 3rd best in that category, cant quite recall).

I havent really looked into the numbers of the offenses we've faced, but, I think we're going to learn that we have a surprisingly strong team.

I really dont see ATL being able to matchup. Even tho people were picking them for the Super Bowl and hyping them up over the last few months, once we beat them they will just be another team added to the, "well that win doesnt matter because any team would beat them" list.

I would LOVE for someone to try and debunk this.

The Texans and Giants game was 0-0 with 3:21 left until halftime before Victor Cruz made a nice 26-yard TD catch. Texans go three and out and punt. They scored again with about 1:07 left on a Rashard Jennings TD. That was the ballgame. Giants took a 14-0 lead at halftime. That sequence right before halftime was disappointing to see.

The Texans defense just ran out of gas on the road. i'm just glad we're 3-1 and playing 3.5 games without Jadeveon Clowney who was the number one overall pick and expected to do big things as a rookie. I thought we'd be 1-3 by now. Facing the Cowboys on the road will be tough but hopefully we learned something from that Giants game. The Texans have never been a good road team (AT ALL). Since their 2002 expansion season.

EDIT: Also Arian Foster didn't play against the Giants but he's been injury prone for the past three years so that was expected. If we had Clowney I believe we could have made that game closer. Our defense sucks right now. Watt can't win every game by himself.

Your defense is ranked 7th overall through 4 weeks.
Your defense is allowing the lowest QBR in the NFL.

You may let up a lot of yards but you stifle teams in the red zone.

The offenses they played aren't the greatest but that's still impressive.

Very deceiving as I posted in the other thread. All of the red zone turnovers we've been getting on defense. Other teams shooting themselves in the foot is what I'm worried about. The Giants also were shooting themselves in the foot before they woke up at the end of the first half in that game against the Texans. They could have been up 24-0 at halftime and not 14-0.

None of those other teams we faced had an experienced quarterback, much less a champion, like two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning. RGIII is injury prone and young, Derek Carr is an overrated rookie who is also hurt and E.J. Manuel, well, let's just say he isn't so good. Now we face Tony Romo who's elite. And by elite I mean regular season elite. He folds under pressure in the big games aka playoff games or elimination games the final game of the season.

I hate to say it but I think our 3-1 record isn't legitimate. We beat three nobodys at quarterback. Now we face Tony Romo, Andrew Luck and Ben Roethlisberger these next three games. We're about to be tested that's for sure.

You can bring up what IF's in a counter argument all day as well. Point is your defense made those plays. It's not a coincidence.

Eli Manning was the first good quarterback we faced this season and he made our defense look bad once he got into a groove. I just hope we can find a way to slow down Tony Romo, Andrew Luck and Ben Roethlisberger during these next three games. Two of them will be nationally televised on primetime TV. The Texans-Colts game on Thursday Night and the Texans-Steelers game on Monday Night.

The last thing I want to see is this 3-1 record quickly turn into 3-4 and the entire country sees us as a pretender. But even at 3-4, we'd still be alive in the AFC wild card race. But that would be a huge let down to say the least. We are not a good football team right now but there is always room for improvement. I just think our 3-1 record is a bit deceiving.

If the Texans upset the Cowboys on Sunday and reach a 4-1 record, I'll run ten laps around your house naked. I said NAKED bro.

Our offense is going to be difficult for anyone to stop if we don't beat ourselves going forward.

I think we fumbled a couple times against you guys and had a bunch of penalties but otherwise played a pretty good game.

You did. One of those fumbles was inside the red zone.

Plus that botched field goal from extra point range. The Giants could have had a bigger lead at halftime. 24-0 at least.

Trust me your defense is better than you give them credit for. Our offense is very potent going forward... and will be even more once Odell gets in the groove and we open up the entire play book.
