This is the most optimistic I've felt in some time during FA. I was amazed with the Revis signing (had no idea we'd even get close to the SB, yet alone win), but Gronk + Bennett should be a force to be reckoned with, and I have no idea how anyone could stop that tandem in the redzone. I'd love to see us draft an OL/CB with our 2nd round picks. I don't know though, I can see how us being SB favorites from the getgo in Vegas, we're looking pretty fucking stacked atm. I still think the AFC is going to be the weaker of the two conferences, I'm not even sure who to really worry about atm. I'm almost positive we'll go 12-4 or 13-3 with a #1 or #2 seed, it'd be nice if we don't let shit teams win again on purpose and actually clinch the #1 spot. I still don't think we would have beaten Carolina, but we would have most likely made the big game had we been in NE.
Edit - Rex Ryan being humbled for even a minute tells you how terrifying our TE game is. That's a man who can always spin shit, especially when talking about NE. Seeing him have fuckall on ideas is fantastic. You never know how the season will go though, a few key injuries and we could be a one and done team. I'm just hoping we can protect Brady better this season. I know he's tough, and he's still got that fucking chip on his shoulder, but a 38 yr old QB can only take so much abuse before he's just done.
no question there (AFC will def be overall weaker than the NFC), off of the top of my head the AFC opponents that worry me the most in the playoffs are Steelers & Bills... If all goes right for the Steelers their offense could be extremely scary this year. Bills because of Rex Ryan's desperation to win a playoff game for all his broken promises
yeah well said about being able to protect Brady, he's our most important asset (Gronk #2, than after that it's very debatable)
In order of most importance IMO, I hope they go beef up the o-line specifically in the draft, I'm talking 2+ picks at the o-line positions, maybe a pick on the d-line - specifically DE or a pass rushing type, we're going to need a replacement for Ninkovich within the next years unfortunately, CB, than i could care less, safety? maybe a WR or RB late? (but def not before round 3, we never hit on WRs anyways). I'm not gonna bother predicting our record til after the schedule is released at the earliest, should be 10 wins minimum tho, I've glanced at our 2016 opponents.
hey at least on the bright side, there is literally no way marty bennett has worse production than scott chandler did assuming he's not injured or anything, can't wait to see him play in a pats uniform.
