Earl is a huge loss but as long as it's not longer than this week, it should be fine.

And really? I guess it makes sense that Wilson take it less. It IS to protect him.

Yeah makes sense but at the same time surprising. Thomas is a big loss for sure but this is the first time we’ve had a legit backup free safety to put in there. Having Bradley McDougald is a really good thing.

So in order to make cap room for Brown, Wilson just converted his salary to a bonus.

Which means that he gets the money right away.

Am I missing something here? That's not a bad thing for Wilson right? Is there a downside to it that I'm not seeing?

I don't understand caps. Why don't teams always utilize this when over the cap?
