Actual conspiracies are things like Saudi Arabia financed 9/11 and the government knew about it for more than a decade. Government spying on us through phone records and Internet searches. Those were 'conspiracy theories' before they were proven to be true.

Not sure saudi financing 9/11 would be considered a conspiracy as that was widely known immediately after, nor did our government try to cover that up? Or did they? (I was only 10 years old when 9/11 happened).
