Not sure it is an upgrade. Peppers isn't the player he used to be. Probably could have gotten Allen for a little bit more money. Like Greetings said, this is not the move we're used to seeing from TT.

Dang, shields and Peppers making 10 mil a year, seems like so much for pretty decent, not great talent. I know peppers numbers look declining, but so has the bears D as a whole though.. He is also gonna have to change from 4-3 to 3-4 if Capers sticks with it, but I am excited to finally see someone else that can step up and make a play. Also read Peppers never missed a game in 4 years with the Bears, and that it something our D definitely needs.
