So Maclin is made of glass.
Got injured again
Eagles need to really trade him off at the end of the season

When his contract ends? I doubt that works.

Gonna rant and post my thoughts about the team so far.

We are 2-0 but we could have easily been 1-1 or even 0-2.

I think the biggest problem we have on offense is lack of true #1 receiver. Sorry Maclin fans aka DM but Maclin is showing why he will never be a true #1 receiver. Seriously he been dropping couple passes and not making nearly enough plays.
Cooper has been shit so far. He's been dropping a lot of crucial long passes. Matthews hasn't been anything spectacular even for a rookie.

Foles has been playing like shit. His stats don't look bad but my god he looks awful. Missing open receivers left and right. Holding on to the ball for too long. Bad decisions (something we didn't see last year).

Some positives? Zach Ertz aka next Jimmy Graham. Oh and of course Darren Sprolesgod. Sproles trade has to be one of the best offseason trade in the league so far.

Defensively we been solid. Nothing great but not shitty either. I would love for some more forced TO but it is what it is. Hopefully Kendricks is healthy soon because Casey is shit.

Maclin has been decent, but he doesn't look like that go to guy we're used to seeing. He has 8 catches 142 yards and 2 TDs after missing an entire season. Shit I'll take it. Hopefully after more time and work with foles they will be on the same page and start connecting 6-10 times a game like we know they can. Our passing game goes mainly through the tight ends and running backs, so the WR numbers are going to diminish.

Obviously after last night out biggest problem on offense is getting in the endzone in redzone situations, which reflects your first point, no true #1 receiver. Kelly is going to have to make some adjustments when we get into that position, which he obviously did in the second half.

I like our defense, I don't love it. We get into third and long situations and luck was able to convert first downs easily by finding guys wide open across the middle. A lot of that had to do with us sending pressure on third down and the colts O line did a great job of picking it up. So another adjusment is going to have to be made with our blitz schemes and try to confuse the offensive line.

I feel like the eagles have a lot of room for improvements and we're going to have to trust kelly and his staff to make the adjustments and learn from the previous 2 games.

Maclin has dropped some easy ones. Maclin made me furious last game for several reasons. Dropping screen passes (although Foles was throwing at his feet most of the time) and the one interception where Maclin didn't even try to go for the ball or to break it up. It was a helluva interception but Maclin should have went up and at least broke it up. Another thing that pissed me off was when it was like 3rd and long and he caught a pass few yards shy of first down, he could have easily gotten the first down if he ran to his right because there was not a player in sight. But what does he do? He runs straight into two defenders and try to juke them which didn't work.

Playcalling in the redzone was atrocious. We need to use Ertz more in the redzone.

Negative sir, I don't know what you're watching but you can not seriously sit there and put the blame on Maclin...

Yes, he's made a few mistakes (every WR makes them) but Foles has missed WAY too often when trying to connect with Maclin. His accuracy issues, especially deeper passes are a HUGE concern so far. Week 1 he missed Maclin for a wide open touchdown, and this last game he overshot him in the endzone for a guaranteed score. Not to mention all the countless passes thrown at his feet, or just out of reach...

And Maclin is fast...VERY fast. It's hard to overthrow him.

Maclin has scored a TD in his last 4 games played, dating back to 2012. All 4 of those games have been with Foles at QB, so obviously Foles loves Maclin and will continue to go to him (22 targets already through 2 games this season) but Foles NEEDS to be more accurate. Not just to Maclin, but to everyone. He has thrived on these short dink & dunk passes to his RB's to bail him out which will not work all season. He needs to actually connect to his outside guys accurately like he was doing last season...

Riley Cooper is ballz, I'm really not a big fan of him and I think Jordan Matthews is our second best WR right now anyway. Once Matthews gets a few years under his belt he'll be far better than Cooper ever could of been.

DM is to Maclin as xnoz is to Eli

cannot fault either player no matter what the circumstances may be

I can fault Maclin, he has had a few plays where he didn't do the right thing. Such as not breaking that interception up, or dropping a pass.

However being targeted 11 times in each game, and only connecting on 4 of those targets each game...the majority of those misses have been the fault of Foles and that's NOT debatable. Foles has played POOR this season, period. He does not look like a Super Bowl caliber QB thus far, and really has only survived off of dink & dunk passes with Sproles carrying much of the weight taking his 5 yard dump offs 20+ yards down field.

Can Maclin play better? Yes. Has he played poorly? Absolutely not, especially considering these are his first regular season games in over a year (you gotta expect some rust). Foles has played poorly, as he has either held onto the ball WAY too long or made absolutely atrocious passes accuracy wise this season.

And this should mean a lot considering I'm a BIG Foles supporter, but even I can't deny how disappointing he has been thus far.
