I was watching the Dallas Cowboys "hard knocks" on the NFL Network. It was from pre-season in 2008
Danny Amendola was trying to make the team but he got cut. Fumbled the ball twice on kickoff returns.
Terrell Owens was still a beast. A young Tony Romo had so much poise and swagger.
That was the training camp after they went 13-3 in 2007 and had the 1st seed in the NFC Playoffs.
They were closer to a Super Bowl back then than they are now.

Wade Phillips was a good head coach. He gets a bad rap for some playoff failures.
That 21-17 loss to the Giants in the divisional round was not really his fault.
One or two plays more and Dallas is hosting the Packers in the NFC Championship that year.

losses are ALWAYS the coaches fault. its part of the job description.

that being said, they beat the giants that game and the Packers are in the Super Bowl!

I appreciated Tony Romo's talent back then. Now he seems like he'll never get over the hump. We have the same disease in Matt Schaub.
Putting up big regular-season stats and making pro bowls means very little if you can't do better than one career playoff win.
But seeing what Joe Flacco did recently gives me some hope for both Texas QBs entering 2013.

if you think 22-12 and 4k yards is "big regular-season stats" then i have to say i'm sorry for you :(

Rodgers put up 27% of Schaub's total TDs in his one game against Houston

The Packers have an elite passing game. Ours is a watered down version of the old West Coast Offense. I say watered down because we allow the running game to set up the pass 80 % of the time. The Packers defense did a great job shutting down Arian Foster in that game (17 carries for 29 rushing yards, a dismal 1.7 ypc). It was the worst game of his career even though he did have two touchdowns.
