We may bring in a like... 3rd tier FA veteran. We will not spend big. Every year Packers fans have this discussion. Money or not, it's not the way Ted operates. Maybe a guy in his late 20's or early 30's that is under-valued and can give us 3-4 years of solid play. Orakpo is 100% not happening. Byrd is 100% not happening.

pretty sure Charles Woodson was "not happening" either. Reggie White was definitely "not happening".

obv not going to get both, either player would bolster our defense though.

And Reggie was not brought in by Ted Thompson. Completely irrelevant.

not really. considering the philosophy has largely remained the same throughout the last couple decades. when the sample size of prominent free agrents is in the single digits, you can only have so many examples rofl

Oh, also, with Woodson, he only played 6 games the year before the Packers signed him. And he missed the last 3 games of the season the year before that. Not like Ted was bringing in an at-the-time homerun commodity there either. He was much, much more prolific as a Packer than his past with Oakland suggested he would be. So again, it wasn't a "not happening" situation there either. At the time, Woodson was exactly what Ted may go for if he goes for anything in FA. A late 20's to early 30's solid, under-valued veteran.

not an attack but being completely dismissive of the possibility that something outside of the realm of previous decisions might occur. that kind of blatant disregard for an outcome is just baffling to me. clearly what we've been doing with the defense the last 3 years hasn't been working, why so quick to rule out a new approach to solving the defensive woes?

99.9% chance Finley will fully heal and be cleared in as soon as 4-8 weeks.
