Are you opposed to them starting Kessler?
Nope, I said after they benched Bortles in that 2nd half a couple weeks ago that Kessler should have been the guy going forward, simply because benching somebody and going right back to them is a bad look. You benched him to try and set an example, then you go right back to him.. Just doesn't look good.
Problem is, I know, just like the coaches know, it isn't all Bortles' fault. He has never been good enough to carry a team on his back and now he has an Offense that's shredded with injuries. Asking him to carry a healthy Offense is laughable, let alone this make shift group.
I honestly don't know if Kessler would last behind this OL. I think it'd just be a matter of time before he got injured from the beating he'd take. You can knock on Bortles for a lot of things, but dude is as tough as they come. Dude isn't afraid to put his body on the line. He's taken some crazy hits in his career and he has keeps getting up.
One thing that would help this shredded OL, that Kessler most definitely would bring to the table is a much quicker release. Kessler's quick release would definitely help us out some, but he's limited in a lot of areas. I think he'd fit this Offense well though. They want short, quick and accurate passes. He could definitely provide that, since that's his complete make up/play style.
