Seeking a big, productive receiver to put opposite Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green, the Bengals turned to Rutgers catching machine Mohamed Sanu with their first of two picks in Friday night's third round.
The 6-2, 215-pound Sanu left New Jersey with a Big East record 210 catches in 38 games, 115 of them coming this season. He runs a 4.55-second 40-yard dash, but projects to play all three positions and has highly-regarded hands and routes.
Sanu, compared by some publications to Green Bay's Jordy Nelson, was the victim of a crank call in the first round Thursday night . Someone claimed to be from the Bengals said they were going to take him with the 27th pick but the class was from imposters. This time the call was real at No. 83
