Yes the kirk was a risk that didn't pay off but would rather have tried to take that chance than not. Hindsight is great and all, would rather have the Owners/ GM take risk than not. Not always going to work out though

I admit, was excited at first about Kirk. Definitely stalled now. If we could keep him in that 25-27mil a year range sure I'd say keep him. He's 20mil this season, 30mil next which is fine..... 45mil in 2022 which is just insane

Agreed that's why I am ok with his 30mil next year, but the 2022 number is just a joke 45mil is mahomes money, 10mil more than Russell Wilson as well. The vikes back ended this contract so poorly. Again we can get out of his contract this season with some deadcap or maybe sucker a team like the colts / Patriots / 49ers to take him. But I doubt that happens. Moreso my pipedream. Worried if we keep him then we will just have to sign and extend him again to further move that 45mil cap number
