You have a top 5 O-Line in the NFL. Just because they haven't played like that one game doesn't mean they suck.
They haven't played that way the past 3 games really...Mangold's been out 11 quarters. It didn't matter vs. the Bengals, but jeez.
Also, Ryan isn't going back to ground and pound because Sanchez sucks, it's because the Jets haven't been able to establish a running game at all. Eli isn't perfect either when the Giants aren't playing like a run-first team. Take some of the pressure off him. Every team needs to be able to grind out the clock and move the chains and a consistent running game helps to do just that. Colt McCoy had 61 pass attempts last week AND HIS TEAM STILL RAN FOR MORE YARDAGE THAN THE JETS DID LAST WEEK.
The Jets just want to be sure they're actually ABLE TO DO IT. Having a balanced attack is pretty helpful. Sanchez didn't play that bad in the Oakland loss - 100% not his fault.
Sanchez was 27/44 for 369 yards, 2 TD passing, 1 TD rushing, and 1 INT. 96.0 passer rating. That also doesn't count his other rushing TD that was overturned; nor does it factor in his O line playing horribly. The Raiders were 0/8 on third down, and were outgained in passing yardage more than 2:1 ratio. Sanchez was doing fine. The Jets DEFENSE allowed 234 rushing yards. That's not Sanchez's fault.
Moore took a reverse that the Jets appeared to have stopped. But Moore cut upfield to elude David Harris and Samson Satele flattened Jim Leonhard with a block, springing Moore for the touchdown that made it 24-17.
Sanchez wasn't botching the tackles, was he?
