Good track record of taking a young team into a bona fide contender, year in and year out. He was viewed as one of the best coaches in the league when he had Steve McNair and Eddie George to build around. Always had one of the best defensive units in the game also. Things got messy in Tennessee over the past few years and not sure I would put the entire blame on him. A head coach like Jeff Fisher would probably take the talent Houston has right now, and get them very far into the playoffs, maybe even a Super Bowl appearance.

you're such a retard dude.

You are if you think Jeff Fisher was a mediocre head coach. He did a great coaching job in Tennessee for over a decade. He didn't win any Super Bowls but he coached the 1999 Titans to the big game and he appeared in the playoffs several times. Only reason I didn't cheer for him is because I was pissed they left Houston, but that was Bud Adams' fault (not Fishers). I think Tennessee will be very lucky if Mike Munchak has half the success that Fisher had as head coach.

jeff fisher is mediocre.
5-6 in the playoffs, 6 of 15 season he only made the playoffs.

nvm ryan, you're right, he's not mediocre.

he's worse than that.

Why do you despise the guy so much? LOL, I've always respected him as a head coach even though the Titans were a heated rivalry.

An interview with Jeff Fisher two weeks ago. It seems like he's just taking a year off and will get back into coaching in January or February. Probably waiting to see who's fired after the 2011 season. Here's hoping that Gary Kubiak and the Texans make the playoffs this year, otherwise he'll be gone and Fisher could be in.

He praised Vince Young in the interview. Kind of ironic given their fall out in Tennessee.

mostly this, but the guy is overrated anyway. racist too, etc.

and ryan, if kubiak is out, wade will still be here. fisher wont be coming to houston, he's a defense coach and he runs a 4-3, not 3-4.

For all we know, the Texans may go 11-5 and make the playoffs this season. That would likely earn Kubiak a contract extension. Wade Phillips has total control over the defense. Kubiak has a great offensive system in place. There are no excuses for failure this season. Coaching is not something people will be able to blame like past seasons.

Brian Cushing missed another day of practice today. His minor knee injury is seeming more serious than anticipated? Gary Kubiak is starting to get pissed off at Cushing's absence. You could hear it from his tone of voice in his interview today. He wants Cushing back at practice. He's not going to play versus the Jets on Monday Night and he may not play at all in the pre-season.
